Electronic climate control V70-XC70 2004

The heat in my V70 worked intermittently (mostly not) all winter. It seems to come on sometimes when the car is jarred slightly when hitting a bump or pot hole. I'm wondering if it could be an electrical connection that is the issue. Can anyone tell me how to get the ECC unit out of the dash to have a look at it?
