Exhaust and chip C70 2000

Have any of you installed the IPD exhaust on a C70 with the 2.4T? Or used their chip? I am curious about results....Thanks!

Re: Exhaust and chip C70 1998

I bought my car with the IPD Motronic board and exhaust. My car is a 5 speed with lots of suspension modifications. Not sure of the difference. but the local Volvo shop manager who's a sports enthusiast tells me my car is more fun than a stock C70. I find the car to have turbo lag such I have to keep it revved over 4000 rpm to run hard. I'd suggest putting the money into suspension, wheels and high performance tires, then attend a track school. I only drive hard at the race track. I can send you a report and photo of my car at Laguna Seca.

Hey, I've seen your car's pic at Laguna Seca track. Pretty nice looking when you were doing that turn. Would you mind telling us more about your suspension modifications?

        Suspension C70 1998

My C70 has all the IPD upgrades. Bilstein shocks, IPD springs, sway bars, lowered 1", 18" HRE wheels, and Pirelli Asimmetricos 225x18. Rides fairly harsh. Very little lean in corners. Problems are the heavy front, traction control which won't let the tires slip in corners, and the ABS feels odd in heavy breaking. I suspect that most drivers won't like the trade-off in comfort for the handling. Esp. since it's a big sedan trying to be a sports car, which it isn't.

I see, I have almost the same setup as you do, but I have OMP strut tower brace instead...and yeah..swapped out these annoying, soft IPD springs long time ago. Got a set of H&R lying around, why not?

I don't think my ride is that harsh, not as bad as my 240 with all the IPD goodies and etc. Maybe you should give H&R and Koni shocks a try, I know H&R has much less lean in the corners.

          Actually it's a coupe.....

Well, only handling complaint I have for the car is that it understeers badly at high speed..probably just b/c it's a heavy FWD car.

By the way, did you notice much of torque steer when you took it to the track?

I'm still not satisfied with its handling...maybe I'll need a AWD or RWD for my next car.
