When I had my evap replaced the dealer went ahead and installed the pollen filter along with the bracket it goes in. The other day I pulled up the cowling ever so slightly to look at it and it was really dirty (after only 5K miles). My question is: how does it come out? It did not really want to lift out. There's a little white tab on the side, am I supposed to push that in or maybe out? The last thing I want to do is break something (although I suppose that's how you learn :-) Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Anybody got a source for 93 & 94 850 pollen filters??

Above is the passenger side of the car with the hood raised all the way up. They're two 25 torx screws almost all the way out. Remove the torx screws and lift up on the plastic covering (be carefull if u hear cracking STOP). There is then the clip/fastener, lift up and the filter can be manipulated out, and the new one in. Check them every 10,000 miles"

Good Question, I would like to know this myself. The cowling was not made to bend very easily even after the bolt(s) is removed, or either I am doing it wrong. Which leads me to this question...

While we're on the subject:

I have a 94 854. Apparently, it did not come with the pollen filter. Can I retrofit it to accept one?

Morgan: Yes you can retrofit a pollen filter. I did it on my 1993 850. Simple job. You can get the kit from the dealer - they will tell you what is needed. If you have the money, they are willing to sell.
