Speakers V70-XC70 1999

Thinking about changing the speakers in my XC.Anyone done that yet? Without me going out to the garage and tearing apart the car does anyone know what size the speakers are in the car?(all the speakers)Just a little information could possibly save me alot of time.

    Re: speakers. Use mb quart. I don't remember which ones I used but the improvement was awesome. Also if money is not an issue, add a good amplifier. (I put it in the rear seat well).Also I added an external EQ

    (also in the rear well) adjust it once and you can tailor the sound to your

    liking.

    I've changed all 4 on my 98 V70. Assuming the same fit in a 99, the fronts are 6.5" components and the rears will fit 6.5" coaxials. I ended up putting Phoenix Golds in the front and Infinitys in the rear.

    In retrospect, I agree with other reply, I would rather spend more money and get nicer front components than change all speakers, changing the rears make little difference, changing the fronts make an incredible difference. If $$ was not an issue, I'd get Focals components, they sound incredible, even entry line sound quality is amazing.

    I've used Crutchfield before and love what they provide. Problem is that at least on their computer system info side, our car style is not available. I have yet to call their rep, maybe they have updated info. Several people have suggested simply replacing just the front speakers with a 6 1/4 component set. Those are available and reasonably priced. The big question for me is how much, if any, modification must be done?

    Look at www.crutchfield.com. They will tell which speakers fit in each position.
