biggest tires on 16" turbo wheels 850 1996

What are the widest tires I can use to replace my 205-50-16s on my 1996 850? Any suggestions on best brand?

    Dave- I replaced my original 16" tires w/dunlops SP 215/55/16s. I don't think u can go wider since the 16" rims are 6.5" wide and anything >215 may over-hang/bulge when inflated. Note the 17" rims are only 7" wide and come with P215s. Personally, next time I change tires, I'm going 205 or 215/60/16 to offset the harshness and vibrations.

    Most of the larger tire manufact. should have 215/55 or 215/60 series. try tirerack.com( where i got mine.) good luck!

    I bought a used 1996 850 Turbo last year and it came with 205-55-16s on it.
