C70 SC901 radio equalizer, wow! C70 2000

Hey C70 owners,

If you did not happen to RTFM (read the manual) the SC901 has an equalizer. You can select the front or rear speakers, then set within 5 ranges the desired tone. I have added a bit of mid tone, but mostly just had a bit if fun playing with this thing. With the couple surround sound CDs I have I continue to be amazed by this car.

hey, did anyone buy the remote control for the radio (really, it IS an option!)? Meant for rear seat riders to be able to control if desired. Just curious if it works from outside the car, like through rear window. I have coupe, not convertible which could perhaps work better from "outside".

Thanks,

Carl from Colorado, smilin cause my snow tires just came off!

After reading about a new C70 owner who complained about only have 3/4 of his speakers working, I figured maybe something was also wrong with mine. I have had the car for only a week now.I was getting low volume and tonality from my rear speakers. So I read the manual, and lo and behold the instructions on setting an......equalizer,who would have tought, even the dealership when giving me the low down on the car did not mention it. absolutely incredible the ranges of sounds you can draw from it, and now the rear speakers have a greater range.

Surround sound CD's were mentionned, any recommendations.

I wonder if it would work for the SC900 models. I guess I have to open up the manual. Really? Are you sure the remote thing is an option? I wonder what that IR thing is for.

      Hi,

For the CDs there is a conductor Erich Kunzel that did a few surround sound symphony cds of movie themes, sports themes, etc on Telarc label. Also check out www.delosmus.com. I highly recommend "Surround Spectactular" from Delos.

If you search for Surround Sound CD on most search engines, and on amazon.com you get some hits. There is an Eric Clapton , Dire Straits, Moody Blues, and few other artisis in surround.

Even regular CDs and sound better on this system though.

As for remote, call your dealer asking if 9SC900 uses remote (bet it does) and can order remote if you want one... for a fee of course :-)

Any other folks have surround CD recommendations?

      Carl

Do any of you with the SC901 stereo have a problem with the Random feature for the CD disengaging itself? I always have 3 CDs in the CD player, and I like to play all of them in Random. But, every other time I start the car, the Random (RND) feature is off again and I have to press the button again.Does this happen to anyone else?
