Trunk lid spoiler wiring 850 1996

Well, after a one month delay, I finally replaced the left rear door using a P&P donor. It took 30 minutes to R&R. The wrinkled door is propped in the garage and the 'new' one works great and looks a lot better. Anyone reading this: I now have an extra door panel in black, a speaker, and a window switch. It is up for grabs.

My real question is about the spoiler. There are 2 small wires that go to the lights in the spoiler. The problem is the yellow plastic connector. How do I get the wires out of the connector????? I prefer not to cut the wires and splice them. Do they just pull out of the connector? Do I try to pull them into the connector a little more, turn them 90 degrees and then pull them out?

The donor car's spoiler is cracked, so I only care about the trunk lid, but I would like to be nice to my old spoiler.

Thanks,

Trunk lid spoiler wiring, off 850 1996

Clever buggars! The prong end of the wire has a metal barb on the end so it won't fall out. Jamming a small screw driver on the plug end will push down the barb and out it comes.

The spoiler is off the donor car. The spoiler is cracked badly on the left side, like someone tried to lift the car with it. Total trash, except for the spare brake light.

Now to tackle the lock cylinder...

I was trying to clear the cobwebs out - I did this job back in 2005 on my 95 T5. Tried to use the spoiler as a handle to keep the car from rolling, and yanked it halfway off the car. Decided to leave it off, and completed the removal process. Found a stock high mounted rear light. Easy mod. Sold the spoiler on Ebay.

I'll admit, I liked the look of the spoiler. I also like the look without it. I just don't like the styling of the '98 by comparison though. The 850 had clean lines.
