Speedometer works off and on! V70-XC70 1998

Hi, I have a 98 V70, recently I was spraying injection cleaner into my intake and after the auto stalled out a couple times, I found later while driving that my speedometer would work on occasion. I also found that the cruise control didn't work either. I connected the obdII and cleared my system, for a while this seemed to eliminate this problem however, on occasion the problem returns. One other thing which may be related or perhaps not, I had my ignition switch replaced about a year ago, on occasion I find that when I first put in the key and turn it (starting engine) my window control, radio would not come on. I later discovered that the key advanced too far on the switch and kept these items from working. I would like to know also what would be best way to lube the ignition switch to prevent a possible switch malfunction or breakage? Would it be best to use a graphite powder? Thanks!

I am going to start backwards on your problem list.

The key not returning to position II is not a function of the key, but a worn electrical portion of the ignition switch. There is no lubricating, as the spring and contact points get worn out. Only the electrical portion of the switch should have been replaced.

You 'cleared' the errors, but did you check on the codes first? A generic code reader only does the basic engine and emmission functions, not the cruise control or speedo. The speedometer signal goes through the ABS module before it gets to the instrument cluster or the main computer.

An ABS fault is probably your first problem, but the ABS and TRKS lights should have come on.

The cruise control has its own vacuum system, but requires a speedo signal.
