looking to buy 199-2002 C70 coupe

I'm looking to buy 199-2002 C70 coupe auto (love the style). I heard a lot of bad stories about transmission and ETM. Any suggenstions/inputs?

In 99 the ETM surfaced, but nost cars now have the new and improved yellow tagged ETM which is much better than the original.
In 01, the 5 speed auto was introduced, with very poor software and prone to break.

The C70 is really unique. A lot of the parts were interchangeable with 98-04 C70's. The hassle are the windows and the top. Both items are unique to the C70, so finding bone yard parts is rare. So is finding a good reference for fixing either. But the car is fun! Especially the HPT version.

Thanks KlausC. How about 99-02 S70/V70? Do they have same issue with auto tranny and ETM? I'm also looking S70 or V70, preferably T5 if not GLT.

I would stay away from 2001 any model Volvo.
Remember, the light pressure turbo gives 200bhp and spools up faster than the high pressure turbo which produces 240bhp.
