Brake Pads V70-XC70 1998

Is it difficult to install new front disk pads? I've done it on other cars and it wasn't that bad. Is it the same on Volvo? I'm considering IPD Metallic pads because we drive A LOT and could use the extra wear resistance. Is this a good move?

Thanks in advance.

    Re: Brake Pads V70-XC70 1998

    John,

The impact of changing to IPD PBR deluxe pads for my V70 AWD was an increase in stopping distance of 10-15 feet at 60 MPH and, for the first time since I owned the car, significant brake fade after repeated stops. I switched back after 15,000 miles to stock pads. Hate the dust, but love the performance.

    Regards,

    Mike Harris in Sandy Eggo

The below listed site has repair procedures for replacing the brake componants. I would'nt go with anything except OEM equipment, all the various modifications I've read about on this board end up making an improvement in one area of dislike and effecting another (usually stopping distance).
