Kansas City Area Shop/Mechanic 850 1995

Hi All,

We have just moved to the Kansas City area (Overland Park, KS) and need a recommendation of a good Volvo shop/mechanic.

    I have an 850R and live in Leawood, I take my baby to KC Autosport. A guy we call Volvo Tim works on it usually. They are located around 67th and Carter in Mission KS. I highly recommend this shop, they know what they are doing and are very fair. They charge about $70/ hr for labor as opposed to $100 at Superior Volvo. I hope you choose them, they don't disappoint.

      I believe KC Autosport is in the Merriam area north of 67th Street and just west of I-35 at about 65th and Carter. I'm glad you've had good experience with him because I'm taking my recently purchased 850 there on Monday. They were about $500 cheaper for a timing/auxillary belt change and rear engine seal repair than Superior. I've also heard about Vern's Imports which is on 67th St. just a little further west, but that they may just work on older rear wheel drive Volvos. Do you know anything about him?

        I have never been to Vern's Imports, but I too have heard that they work mainly with 240 and 740. My favorite thing about KC Sutosport is that Volvo Tim acually tries to talk me out of repairs. I am kind of a fanatic about maintenance, and he usually just ends up telling me my car is fine instead uf suggesting expensive repairs. It is an honest operation and the only one I ever recommend.
