COOLANT LEAK V70-XC70 1998

Noticed a little coolant under the passenger side of the engine. Top of CV boot looks wet, but coolant tank is dry underneath, and the hoses near the tank are also dry. Are there any coolant lines near the bottom of the passenger end of the engine? Or, is this a waterpump leak?

Thanks!

I just had same thing a few weeks ago. It was a tiny weeper from bottom of thermo housing. New gasket and all is dry. It was very very hard to spot. Check for weepage from the rad hose on that housing too.

Pull off the cover to the timing belt as soon as you can. You will be able to shine a flashlight on the water pump and see if there is a leak.

If the pump looks good, check the side of the engine next to the firewall. Turbos have a water pipe going to the turbo.

There is a coolant line from the turbo on the driver's side rear of the engine. Is this a return or supply?

      thanks!!
