Ignition switch issues V70-XC70 1998

Sometimes after starting my V70, the headlights and turning signals don't work. In addition, I need to use the shift release button to shift from park to drive or reverse.. To remedy, i've found if I grab the key and jiggle it, the ignition switch moves slightly and will engage the lights and unfreeze the shifter. Is this a bad ignition switch or maybe an faulty electrical connector or something else?
Thanks!

Replace the switch. Easy to do on your 98, just remove the clamshell around the steering column and unscrew the switch. Do NOT remove the housing for the wires, you will not have a good idea how to put the wires back without a picture!
