Coolant drip V70-XC70

Hello,

I have a small coolant leak. 99 XC70
I see drips coming from the base of the timing belt cover.
Is this a sign of failing water pump? I think this is bad and could lead to timing belt slip and engine failure.

Correct?

The timing belt is notched, meaning it will not 'slip'. Take the cover off the timing belt and take a look at the water pump, make sure the leak comes from there and is not leaking down from the overfow tank/hose. A leaking pump is not to be trivialized, it must be replaced with an OEM pump.

Make sure you remove ALL of the old gasket without scaring the metal surface. Sometimes you wonder why the inner fender liner doesn't have a larger opening as humans don't have a couple of extra joints in their forearms.

Lifted off the expansion tank and the underside is dry. I have ordered the volvo pump and Timing belt. We bought the car used & believed the belt to be done, but as long as I am in there I will swap it also.
Still trying to find an oil leak.
