XC70 oil cooler V70-XC70

Is the oil cooler the small box surrounded be a black plastic band mounted to the rear of the oil pan. If yes, do the lines from it carry coolant to the pan, or carry oil to the radiator? I am trying to fins a leak of oil.
When I clean everything I dont see a leak. But I think at higer RPM it starts to leak. Back window is gunky from oil mist.

Also, Do the lines even go all the way to the radiator, or do they find some spot on the block to interface with coolant. I would love to remove rear heat shield, but I am afraid the bolts will snap off, they are very old and brittle looking. The ones with springs between the heads and the shield.

If they carry oil, what kind of pressure is it under? I think the rubber hoses that connect to my oil cooler are not stock, the look like soft rubber heater hoses cut to length. I fear that if the pressure is high enough, oil might be spraying out in a fine mist.

I just found this in an old post

On 99 and newer there are no oil cooler lines. The oil is pumped directly to the cooling device attached to the back side of the oil pan. Coolant lines are attached to this. No more hoses going to the side of the radiator.

Can anyone vouch for this on a 99 XC70

        This should solve your dilema:

Correct, the oil cooler is attached to the sump and not the radiator. If it is leaking, the oil pressure can exceed 60psi until the oil gets hot. The hotter the oil the lower the pressure, like 30psi for a hot engine.
