The mags on my V70 seem to be loosing their clearcoat. I'd like to do a chemical strip on them and then polish them. Anyone have this problem and is this a good Idea? Thanks!

    Are your wheels polished. painted or...?

    The Volans on my '96 855R are anodized - I have one that I bought used and the PO had tried to strip it - what a mess.

    It would be a lot easier to spray them with clear coat - with some effort, you could mask off the tires. Use short pieces because of the curve and tuck the tape in with a knife or some other tool.

    When I painted steel wheels, I used to do the bead area with an artist's brush
