Catalytic converters 850

Hi all,
I am considering buying a 3" downpipe (no Cat) OBX system, the question is whats the downside of no cat , other than emissions etc
This would be installed on a 1996 Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon, auto trans , that currently is 99% stock
as always ,
Thank you,
Dave

Why are you not running a Cat? Tale a chance and find one used from a private parting out car if you really need to save the money. Recyclers can't resell them by law. And if you were to get bagged somehow without one you'd be fined like 10K.
Not to mention that the fumes are a horrific reminder of what cars smelled like in the early 70's. My cat went bad at 220K on my V70 and the fumes could choke you.

I suggest looking at Volvospeed or turbobricks for a good answer. Remember, the front O2 sensor controls fuel injection rate.
