Why is the headlight lense milky and how should i fix the problem.

Is it on the outside, inside, or in the plastic?

On the outside, polish should take care of it.

Inside might be some kind of deposit caused by a dramatic bulb failure - might be polished off.

Inside the plastic, it is probably a goner.

I tried a couple of the recommended polishing paste/sandpaper kits and the results were minimal. I hope someone has an answer.
