2001 v70
Right front window will not go down
Could it be a fuse or relay or is the motor gone. I do not hear any noise
If it is the motor could I replace it with one of the rear motors or are they different?
I think I can get my friend who is a body man to carefully take the door panel off

My bet with the 2001 is a bad window switch. The entire window switch pulls up and out. Look around for a cheap replacement, salvage yards or fleabay. The window motors rarely fail.

Switches can be taken apart, but there are very tiny springs and parts that tend to go flying and are hard to figure out where they came from - if you can find them!

Somewhere online, there is a guy that will sell you a 'reconditioned' master window switch. Google search 'volvo 2001 window switch'

Did you look at the switch? There is a pin in there that can go bad and will not allow power to the window from the master as well. No noise. I would pop out the switch and inspect it before pulling apart the door panel. The switches go bad all the time.

Could it be a failed window switch? Mind you the the driver one should still power the passenger one

It was a little roller on the regulator that went bad on Mary's '04 V70. It was not difficult to replace. I took the door apart twice. Once to check the motor and again to replace the roller. You will need a trim button tool, it looks like a screwdriver with a wide forked blade.

Judging by the pictures on Tasca Volvo's site the front and rear motors are not the same.

Greg
