Fuel Pump recall XC90 2004

I have an '04 XC90 2.5T with about 138K miles. I found in my records a letter indicating an "extended warranty" on the fuel pump. It says that, within 10 years or 150K miles, if I smell fuel, I can have the fuel pump replaced at no charge. I have smelled fuel in the past, but it may have been due to overfilling. Should I have this done just to be on the safe side? Do fuel pumps eventually fail (is this something I might be doing soon anyway on my own dime)?

Thanks

You should never smell fuel, unless you spill a lot of it when filling. If the recall is valid, then get it replaced.
