Automatic Locking system. 400 1991

Can anybody tell me if my 440 GL K6 of '91 (european version) should have automatic locking systems.

I just bought the car, and can't find whether it should have such a system or not.

If it should, then please tell me how to fix it, because it's not working at this moment.

i have a 440gl as well, 1991, red manual trans, 1.7L

the locking system often gets gummed up by the cold or just because of the age of the car, i was told by a volvo mechanic in Kusel, Deutschland, where i live near to take the door off and unjam it

that's all i can tell you man
