serpentine belt S70 1998

what's the expected lifespan? replaced mine at 69k when I did the timing belt, car now with 106k...and am taking a 800 mile round trip next month....

    It is time rather than mileage. If you don't like the condition of the belt, replace it. HF63 has a good point, it is easy to do so long as you memorize the correct routing.

    Yes, normal operating will let the belt go to 70K. But it is a cheap part and 5 years would be a good time period. You really don't want to drive without an alternator or power steering.

    Could you go 800 miles? Without a doubt. But if you aren't comfortable, then change it.

    I do mines only when the timing belt gets done. You can inspect the belts for any cracks. I also carry a spare belt on the extra tools just in case. Very easy to replace!
