IPD Exhaust? S70 1998

How does the IPD system sound? does it have a deep sort of growl or does it sound like one of those damn honda civics? Thanks

    Thats an IPD exhaust along with a downpipe, cat, intake and few other mods. I will try to dig up an old dat tape of just the exhaust and scan it in if I can find it.

      Hard to argue with a recording, eh! I can confirm that that's what the ipd system sounds like. On the road you won't notice any difference during acceleration. However, you'll get a throaty sound under light throttle and deceleration (less than light throttle, however). I like it - let's me know there's an engine under there. My wife has never commented on it so it can't be too intrusive...

        I went with a SuperSprint SS system.

        Very quite in comparison to pretty much anything else ... there's just that minor hint of throatiness that let's you know that the car could be trouble.

          John,

          One thing we forgot to discuss - the exhaust tip. The ipd has a moderately large "Bologna" cut tip. It's not as big as the coffeee can tips seen an a lot of the riceburners but still different from the stock exhaust. That's the only external sign that there have been mods to my 850, aside from it being about 1 1/4" lower than stock.

          What tip does the SuperSprint SS system use? Good looking S70!

            The tip on the SuperSprint is actually almost the same size as the stock tip...except polished chrome.

            I hate the "grapefruit" thrower look...blah!
