Replaced all brakes and now ABS Kicks in unneccessarily and vibrates car 850 93

I replaced the pads on my car and it now I think the ABS kicks in very

unneccessarily and vibrates the whole car even at low speeds ever so often

not all the time .I regret to say these brakes were from pepboys and not OE

parts .Does anyone know if I could return brake pads as they are only week

old and what are the average prices for the front and rear OE brake pads.

if not can I put some stop squeek on my rotors or do I have to machine them

or replace them .I appreciate any suggestion and thanks in advance....

My guess is that it's a brake (or lug not torquing) problem and not an ABS

problem. Those ABS sensors either work (can tell that the wheel is

turning) or they don't, and if they don't, a light on your dashboard will

come on. I don't know if your ABS will notice if a single tooth is missing

from a wheel hub or not, though...

The concensus on turning rotors on 850s is DO NOT DO IT

Pep Boys probably does.

You need to clean the wheel abs sensors.

Hi matt

thanx for the info! What you say makes total sense and

I was wondering if you can give me an idea of how to clean the abs sensors,

and how to locate them.

Your input is very appreciated.

Thanx

Jay-P

I have not cleaned the sensors myself, but if you remove the wheel you should be able to spot a wire around the rotor. Follow that to the sensor. At one point my abs pump started going off randomly and I was told by the dealer that the rear sensors were bad. But it might be as simple as cleaning them.

That helps Matt.Ive tried brake cleaner on the sensor area where i traced it and that helped it.

I appreciate it.

In my opinion, you should always turn the front rotors because for one thing, volvo's are hard on brakes plus the front brakes do 70% of your braking. You could have warped rotors or the old pads may have wore into the rotor slightly as mine did. See if there is a ridge on the outer part of your rotors in front.
