Vadis shows a u shaped tool (9995722) with slots on the ends to remove the ECM in the engine compartment.

Anyone have a removal method without buying or making the tool?

Remove the box around all the different ecu's then use a flat head screwdriver from the back and push the sliders back (towards the front of the car) alternating between the 2 and pulling up on the ecu. works fine tho a bit fiddly. installation is the inverse. done it many a times
