05 V70 power steering squeal V70-XC70

I get a power steering squeal when driving low speed and turning. Embarrassing driving in the Costco parking lot looking for a space.
I have checked the fluid level, it's perfect.
I have installed a new serpentine belt, spring tension seemed good on idler pully.
I have greased the steering wheel stops.
Any suggestions on the cause?
Ted

Is it worse when turning one way vs the other way?

I found out on our 05 S80 that it made some funny noise when turning left only. Filling the fluid just slightly above the full mark cured it. Apparently when I turned left the fluid sloshed to the right in the reservoir, causing the pump to suck some air.

You should use the pentosin type fluid especially if you operate in cold climates.

Hi Chris
I haven't noticed if it is worse turning one way. I will have to check it out. It does seem worse in warmer weather.
I will also have to check out what pentosin type fluid is, I live in Nova Scotia so we do get some cold weather.
Thanks for you input Chris, I will try topping up the fluid.
Ted

From your owner's manual:

Power steering fluid

The fluid level should always be between the ADD and FULL marks.

Fluid type: Volvo synthetic power steering fluid (Pentosin CHF 11S)

P/N 1161529 or equivalent.

Replace: No fluid change required
