brake vibration at near 50k S70 98

My brakes have been vibrating slighty as I near the end of my factory warranty. I was wondering if this would be covered under warranty, or at 48,000 miles, just a wear and tear issue.

    Is the vibration a loud oscillating vibration, or a normal one that you'd expect from warped rotors? The reason I ask is that I have been having the same problem for the last year or so (only 37K miles now) and it turned out to not be warped rotors as my dealer first thought (they replaced rotors and brake pads) but an ABS problem. They replaced the ABS control unit and the front hub/bearing.

      That's interesting, in that my dealer is offering to replace my rotors and pads for cost / no labor (at just over 50K); but the symptoms are more like you are describing with the ABS, which is what I originally complained to them about (since before 50k). Did you find any coorelation with heat build-up in the brakes. This is what seems to bring an episode on, in my situation. It causes a vibration felt throughout the passenger compartment, nothing like my experience with warped rotors.

      Also, was the abs control unit covered under warranty?

    there is a know issue with certain years and Vin# on C70's of warping rotors. Also in today’s cars Rotors are considered a disposable item and are not worth turning..

    your car may be covered under the service bulletin

    Good luck with trying to get your dealer to give you new rotors!!!! My bet is you'll need to order new pads and have your rotors turned...

    brakes are 1 year 12,000 miles, not covered at 48K.

      warpped rotors may be covered if you ask your service advisor. Normally if the dealer is nice they will replace them once as a courtesy to the customer.
