Has anyone bought and then installed the Zimmerman cross-drilled front rotors and Mintex pads from the guy in Jersey who seems to always be selling them on eBAy? thanks

Hi I'm not a mechanic or even in the upper half of guys (and women) here that work on their Volvos. But I do read every post in this 850/70 forum and if there's one concensus that rings out above all others, it is this: use OEM brake parts.

I got a set from another guy, but not the cross drilled ones. Just the regular rotors. I have heard way too many problems with some cross drilled rotors, I'll stick with the stock rotors.

i bought the same set from a guy in upstate ny who also sells alot through ebay. the first set warped w/in 1k miles and went back. the second set was fine but for the relatively annoying weedwacker type noise from the cross drilling every time you used the brakes [!]. you could only really hear it w/ the windows open but i like the windows open...have had cars w/ cross drilled rotors before [porsche 930, bmw baur 323...] but none of them exhibited this noise.

I have been watching an auction on E-bay but for 240 rotors.

Rears are ATE and fronts are Zimmerman. Not drilled.

You can search by Volvo rotors or disks.

It is from Foreign Car Parts in Groton CT.

I have bought from him before, and got good service.

(Got BAD service from UPS but he got it resolved and I got my parts)

So if anyone is bidding lets not bid each other up!
