New lock, key doesn't work V70-XC70 2000

2000 V70 SE

Second project on daughters car was to install new drivers door lock assembly. Installation went ok and keyless remote locks all doors. But... Key will not now turn or unlock the door (drivers door is only door with a key lock).

What did I do, or didn't do during lock installation?

Update: opened the drivers door back up and figured out the problem. There is a small metal rod with a flattened blade end that connects the key cylinder in drivers door handle to a rotary plastic latch in the door lock assembly. It's tricky to get rod inserted into the rotary latch and I missed, the first time. All is well now; central locking system works with both the key in drivers door and from the keyless entry remote.
