how to remove dash face? V70-XC70 2001

Hi -

Has anybody managed to figure out how to remove the face of the dash that contains the two center vents and the hazard flasher? (this is the part above the radio face).

I'd like to get that off so I can mount something to it, but can't figure out how it's held in place. Any pointers?

Thanks!

- Darell

There are four plastic tabs in the corners. You have to get under the tabs and pry them away from the dash, while slipping something between the vent and dash and prying it out.

Thanks for the confirmation Bob. I managed to lift one corner and saw one of those tabs, but had to give up before I could accomplish any more.

So just the four tabs like the one I saw are holding that on? No other fancy gizmos to worry about?

      Thanks a bunch!

If you haven't check the Bay13 yet, you may want to do so now, as they have detail pictures, step by step.

this is the link "http://volvospeed.com/maintence.htm#Misc",scroll to "850 Dash Removal From Bay 13"

        Hope it helps.

          Thanks Peter -

Looks like the 850 dash was quite a bit different than the lastest version, but I really appreciate the link and offer of help. I THINK this is going to be pretty easy once I have a free moment to take a better look at mine.
