No, new cars are all computer controlled. If your idle is too high, there is probably an air leak into the intake manifold.

How hard is it to change the P/S pump on a V8? I know the intake manifold has to be removed, but it that the big issue?

My P/S pump makes noise at 650RPM, but is quiet at 700RPM. So, I wanted to raise the idle speed.

Damn pump! I've flushed with CHF 202, and no improvement.
