timing belt change interval S70 1998

so I think I already know the answer to this one, but that I'd prevail again on wiser heads...did first belt change in 2007 with 69k on the odometer...sooo, now it's 2015, but only 113k on the odometer, somewhat short of the mileage interval...there is a time interval too? change time???
Also, at last change, replaced belt and water pump, but did not change tensioner(hydraulic style) or anything else...what to change now?

thanks wiser heads....

The hydraulic tensioner and water pump usually last 200K miles, assuming the antifreeze is flushed periodically.

Using time instead of mileage depends more on climate conditions. You could inspect the belt for cracks and wear, same as checking the Sbelt.

This time you should change the rollers with the belt and change the rollers on the Sbelt also.

If you look at the fine print in the Volvo maintenance guide, the timing belt needs to be changed at 60K intervals for ALL years, including the new engines, after the first belt replacement. Why, I don't know.

Time wise, anytime before 10 years, unless you live in the desert areas which will dry out the belt sooner.

That's a new revelation. How many of us follow the 60K interval after the first TBelt change? I haven't been; replaced belt and tensioner & idle pulleys at 100K (with water pump) and 200K on our 2000 V70 SE.

The cost of replacing the tensioner, idler, belt and even the water pump ( but I wouldn't chamnge it this time) is peanuts compared to a failed tensioner and/or belt.

    Brother's Audi failed tensioner = $5k
    Daughter's Subaru failed tensioner (16 bent valves) = $3k

Your mileage may differ, but I bet the cost wouldn't be any less.

Check your owner's manual - if you do not have one, I think that you can get one on the web from Volvo for free.

On 850s the mileage was 70K and the time 7 years.

Time wise it is recommend to change the belt every ten years, regardless of miles.
