Victor Reinz gasket/sealant S70

Getting the parts together for pulling the oil pan to replace the pickup o-rings. Anybody ever used the Victor Rienz branded Form in place gasket for their oil pan reseal? They were out of it when I ordered the o rings and oil cooler seals (those are all Volvo genuine parts) and I wound up with this stuff. Now I'm not so sure about it.

Is there no Dealer within 100 miles of you? I cannot comment on the VR sealant, my only question would be how sticky it is, just in case the pan has to be dropped for some other reason.

The Volvo sealant is not 'sticky' like many RTV sealants. It is just expensive as heck!

Instant gasket might be a good emergency repair if you're stuck somewhere in the Yukon and anxious to get your mistress to the maternity ward. Otherwise ,I'd forget that RTV, or whatever, and order a gasket from someone.

Thanks for the reply BB.
Volvo and many other manufacturers use a form in place gasket for oil pans and other items. If you have one of these cars, you would want to know that Anaerobic sealant is used by Volvo for the oil pan and mid deck (valve cover). As such, they never offered a paper or other prefabricated gasket for those applications at all.

I was wanting to see how people who have used a non Volvo option would rate it, especially over time.

So, anyone? How about the IPD stuff?
