SRS light came on today after replacing rotors and pads. Is that a dealer reset only? Thanks to all that respond.

    Think about it. The SRS is your airbag system. That should not be affected by doing a brake job. Maybe your ABS, but not SRS.

      Good day, had the SRS light checked today, found the drivers side SIPS bad. Volvo dealer recommended a new airbag at $685.00. Probably could find a seat replacement much cheaper, any thoughts?

        My local pick&pull charges $30 for a seat. You will need a 99-00 seat for exact replacement.

        I wonder if it is just a chaffed wire or a bad connector.

          30 bucks for a Volvo seat??? You don't mean $300, do you? Are you talking leather?

          I bought my '98 just for the seats. If I could have got a few seats for $60, I could have bolted them to the floor of my house and imagined I was flying down the road. Imagine the savings.

            Actually a bucket seat is $19. Leather or cloth, manual or electric, makes no difference. The rear seat is also $19, bottom + back & bolsters. But, it costs $2 to get in the joint and there is sales tax.

            There is a return policy for some items.

            I want a nice black 1998 driver's seat. Hard to find good examples.

    Have yo been folding down the back seats for cargo space? My SRS light came on and I use the cargo space all the time.
    I think I messed with the seat belts and that can trigger the light.

    This scanner will not tell you what is wrong with the 1999, but it will clear the code.

    I don't understand. The brakes have nothing to do with the SRS.
