sunroof 850 93

we are still new to the 850's. Leaning a lot as we go especially from all of you . todays question. Is the sunroof supposed to havean auto stop ? When my wife has the sunroof open, sliding back, and goes to close it, it goes past "park" to the vent position (forward with the back up) so then she has to play with the switch and rock it back and forth to get it (sunroof) to seal or get out of the car and look. Is this normal ? Otherwise it works fine and seals tight.

Thaks again everyone for all your help.

The sunroof should stop in the closed position. Then if you release the switch and press again, it should go to vent position. Likewise when closing from vent, it should stop in the closed position, requiring another switch activation to slide open. There is a control device thet attaches to the motor that stops the motor in the closed position. It will probably have to be replaced. It's not dificult but there are alignment marks that have to be lined up with the roof in the closed position when installing the new controler. The motor and controler are under the dome light assembly.

    No thats not normal.

You do need to keep a eye on the SR so that when it is all the way shut you take your finger off the switch. Once the roof is all the way foward, and then pops up a bit, its time to remove your finger from the switch. If you just keep your finger on the switch.....I think it will go to the vent position.
