Hi All
I have a 2004 S60 and would like to know how to remove the rear seat back.

Got it I removed the bench seat then had to remove two bolts that hold the backs of the seats also had to remove corner cushions to get to bolt that holds the seat and then out it comes.

I can only tell you how it is done on a 850.

Remove the bottom cushion. Fold one of the backs forward. With the back folded flat, pull towards the door (it moves about 2mm) and lift up the side closest to the door.

Watch out for plastic spacer bits on the shaft where the two seats are joined together.
