where is TRACS switch? 850

If I'm eyeballing 850 wagons, and looking for one equipped with TRACS, where do I look to make sure the car has it? I'm assuming there's a switch near the transmission on the center console, but I don't know. Never seen the inside of an 850 with TRACS.

Thanks in advance.

As the other respoinder described you will find it on right to the streering column. It works up to 40km/h according to the manual.

Certainly you will notice harsh noice when it works.

Re: where is TRACS switch? 850

On my '96, the Tracs switch is in the bank of switches to the right of the steering column (i.e, where the defrost and sunroof switches also are). To at least confirm that the switch works, when you are running the car if you toggle the switch you should see the "Tracs Off" light toggle as well. More importantly, to test that Tracs is actually working you should try to accelerate briskly from a standstill on a slippery surface. You should hear a rapid clicking sound from the brakes as they cycle on and off to prevent wheel spin. Please note that Tracs is only a low speed system, working only up to about 25 KM/hr (I'm going from memory on the exact speed).

Re: where is TRACS switch? 850

The speed that TRACS is functional up to is 25 MILES per hour not Km/h...
