hi can anyone help me cooling fan wont stop when car is shut off I just changed the coolant temperature sensor and t-stat engine temp does not read hot any other ideas thanks guys

    The engine cooling fan is controlled by the engine coolant temperature AND
    the A/C pressure controls.

    Turn off your A/C and see if that kills the fan, (That would be when the fan
    is running with a cold engine)
    Then one item to check is the Pressostat (A/C four wire sensor)
    which in the 850 is near the thermostat,
    presumably in the high pressure A/C line.

    (some models have additional sensors by the radiator that can run the fan)

      do you know where the Pressostat is located on v70 xc 2001 thanks

        After some more looking.
        The pressurestat is near the firewall on the passenger side, clearly
        visible in the pictoral that shows component locations in the wiring diagram.

        I suppose the only way it will kill things is to stick closed
        which can be tested with an ohmmeter at it's connector.

        Did the fan go off when you shut off the A/C?

            Did you look at the link that Klaus provided? Any comments?
            He went out of his way to help you.

            I just looked at the 1999 C70/S70/V70 Wiring diagram/
            The Volvo part nr is TP 3941202 and its free for the taking on the web.
            Except it doesn't have a component list, that makes it problematical to
            troubleshoot. Example: What is component 7/8 involved with the V70 fan.

            Do you have a complete wiring diagram for your model year car?

            Tell me where to find it.

    Read the whole thing. His solution is the last update. Of course, it is a 2003, so it might be different.
