850 Motor Mounts

Hola,

It is time to replace all the motor mounts in the 850. Besides OEM/ Volvo, which other brands will you guys recommend.

I put a Lemforder front lower passenger crankshaft mount in my 95 about 2 years ago. No problems. Lemforder was significantly cheaper than OEM and Lemforder may actually be OEM for that particular mount.

I used the IPD upper torque rod mount kit in my 93. No issues there either. Also much easier to install.

Hey, got a question for you. Why are you replacing all the mounts? I thought it was just the above 2 that go bad. I believe the others, including the tranny, are hydraulic and rarely go bad....

Last year, I replace the power steering rack and had some time to check the rear mount and after 20 years and 340k miles it is time. I normally like to do things in groups and when it comes to the mounts I will just replace all of them together.

Yup, makes sense. 340k is a lot of miles...:)

Good luck with it!

I just did a quick search and other brands that I am considering are Utchinson and Corteco.

Hutchinson is supposed to be good and might be OEM for the some of the mounts. Never heard of Corteco.
