Cabin Air Filter S60 2012

Just replaced the cabin air filter in my S60 (75K miles). There is a video on line showing how to do it but don't believe it. Take out the glove box (remove 6 screws and pull)and displace the small fuse box to make the job much, much easier. Got the filter from Advance (Purolator) which was exactly the same as the Volvo filter I removed.
I don't understand why they put a replaceable filter in such an inaccessible location.
Tom

    Cabin Air Filter S60 2012

I bought a replacement back in 2009 before your car was made, for my 2005 V70. It is still in the shipping box.

I just looked online, and for mine it looks very easy, from inside via a panel under the glove box. Supposed to be similar for the S60 of the time. I'm sorry yours is a PITA - they must have changed the design after around MY2007.

I'm gonna go see if I can finally change mine!

      Cabin Air Filter S60 2012

I believe the S60 went through major changes for MY 2011. In the video and on the instruction sheet it does not mention removing the glove box or displacing the small fuse panel (which is not difficult).
      Good luck
      Tom

Cabin Air Filter placement S60 2012

I often wonder about the design engineers, what are they smoking? The 850 and early S/V/C70 had the cabin filter under the windshield cowling, easy to get to.

Subaru (daughter's car) also has the cabin filter behind the glove box. Some other cars require a major operation to replace the darn thing annually. Why?
