V70 rear camber not adjustable V70-XC70 2004

Just finished a 4000 mile road trip and the rear tires on my '04 V70 were totally ground off on the inside tread (down to the wires). Purchased new tires today & had alignment checked. The rear camber was -1.5 degrees on one side and -1.7 degrees on the other. Acceptable range was -1.3 to +0.3 degrees. Shop says camber is not adjustable. Is there a way to adjust the camber (shims, etc.)? Anyone else had an issue like this? I've driven this car 30K the past 13 months, 4 months of those were on a separate set of snow tires, new strut inserts & alignment in May 2015 (tires looked fine then, alignment numbers were the same as today). Any info appreciated. Thanks.

Here's what I plan to do using IPD offset bushings. A process similar to the TAB replacement on 240. New bushings will correct to 1.5degrees, so that should correct it to -0.2degrees and 0degrees.

Replaced the bushings today. Job could probably be done in 4-6 hours but it took me around 12 because I had to make the press. I had a 1/2" grade 8 bolt left over from 240's TAB replacement, but it was too big. I used a 7/16 threaded rod with grade 8 washers & nuts, but I stripped the threads on the rod a couple of times. I'd recommend using a 12mm or 7/16" grade 8 bolt with fine threads. I only disconnected the toe-in adjustment bar and the inner control arm, but getting the control arm lined up again took a floor jack, drift & wrecking bar.

My tires looked the same as yours, but both were equally worn. I can't find any broken parts on mine. I've got it up on my lift today so I can get a good look at the bushings & parts.

I had a bad camber problem on my 99V70. It took me a while to figure out that i had a broken rear control arm anchorage. I think is part #1 in the link.
It wsa hard to diagnose, but I finally found it when I slowly jacked up the rear and the wheel made an abrupt shift. Eventually I traced it to the broke part.

I think there are a few threads on the site about the problem.

You need to find a real alignment shop, not a tire discounter place. The alignment can be corrected by shimming or other techniques; otherwise, you'll buy 2 more tires in 8000 miles. Hope you get it worked out.

What's the difference between a "real alignment shop" and a tire dealer who also has computerized alignment equipment?

I don't know what the difference is, but I do know that I was quite surprised when Sears adjusted the rear wheel camber on my 2001 V70 (not AWD). I had it in for an alignment after swapping out front struts. Their documentation said the rears were adjusted too.

Skeptical, I crawled under there to inspect. I could see that the bolts on the lower link of the suspension had been adjusted (Undercoating had been disturbed).

Best of luck.

I do not have an answer to your question, but double check the alignment with another shop. Get a second opinion!
