Where is the trans dipstick V50

We've had the car @ a month and it now has 90,000 miles on it. I would like to check the trans fluid for smell / color but apparently you need to remove the bottom engine cover to see the fluid.

I have yet to find a post that says, Hey engineers great place to situate the dipstick.

I thought the S60 was difficult to get to but apparently the 2007 V50 is impossible from the top side.

True or am I just not seeing it?

Probably true, pretty common today. A lot (if not all) of newer cars have no dipstick. Basically a sealed tranny.

My 2002 Passat is the same way. I'm debating now whether to just go ahead and change the fluid for my piece of mind..
