Considering C70 convertible for daughter. C70

I'm considering a 2008 or so C70 convertible for our daughter. She's just getting her license and has been driving my F150 and wife's 855T which we've just replaced with an '08 V70. I "discovered" the C70 drop top while finding the V70 for my wife.

The V70 is our fourth Volvo and I DIY so am not too concerned with what could be regular maintenance.

I read lots of positive reviews on different sites but is the roof mechanism reliable over the years? It reminds me of an old recliner we have that is out of whack and linkages are shot. You can recline but it won't un-recline without a crowbar.

Have to admit, I love the car! Might dump the F150 for one myself!

Lucky girl! I would consider one for myself, if I had more room in the garage. The hard top convertible came out in 2005-6. Not sure if they all had the T5 engine at that point.

Check for water damage, leaving them out in a downpour can create a lot of problems later in life. Verify that the windows are in good functioning order and the top goes up/down without a lot of noise.

Haggle the heck out of the seller, it is winter time!!! These cars are typically low mileage.

      Thanks again.

Frankly, once the kids are finished with high school and the tuitions, I see my wife and I in a C70, what's left of my hair in the wind and hitting the road.

If you DIY maintenance on your Volvos you can save enough money to buy another one!
