2004 S60 Starts then runs for 1 sec after new battery S60

My 2004 S60 had its original battery 165k miles- Battery wss dead after sitting several weeks. Charged it and car started right up and ran fine last week. Tried to start it today and battery was dead again. Since battery was 11+ years old , I bought a new one.

With the new battery, starter engages right away , car runs for a second and stalls out. There was a message in the info center "Full Guard".

Have tried other key clicker thinking it might be an anti theft issue.
Any other suggestions?

Thanks
Greg

Call a dealer, there may be some code you have to enter.

After an internet search, the - full guard - message is supposed to tell you that the alarm system is working again after a problem in the alarm system. (dead battery ?)

One thing to try is locking and unlocking the car 5 times. Have you read the owners manual?

If you do not have one, a PDF is probably available on the internet - I just downloaded the owner's manual for my recently acquired '92 745.
