What is the mileage/years intervals for timing belts on these cars?

    70K. The old style hydraulic tensioner will last for 200K+ miles, but the rollers need to be replaced at the same time. The water pump (OEM only) will last to 200K, IF you use good antifreeze and keep it fresh (every 5 years or so).

      So, my V70 has 136,000 on it. We're good to wait for a little while til 140,000?

        I would find a good volvo independent garage and have it done fairly soon. Dealers charge an arm and a leg for this. Get a new Serpentine belt also, it has to come off to get to the Tbelt anyway.

          Ok, great....ugh. So, how much can I expect a dealer to charge? At this point the last place I want to go is the dealer, as my S40 is there in the shop still as they try to get it to duplicate the problem its been having.....BUT i don't know of any good independent Volvo shops close by. :(

          I am SICK of car problems.

            I am not sure of the locations of these shops, perhaps one is closer than others. Just call them and ask for a quote.
