AM Radio Static 850 1997

If I try to listen to AM radio, it is completely static. It's worse when I accelerate. The radio model is a SC-815. Any suggestions?

A bad connection, or a problem with the shielding on the antenna wire could be a problem.

Do you have a wagon or a sedan?

If it is a sedan, I have seen antenna masts in older cars that have electrical problems from section to section. Try moving the antenna around a bit to see if that might be the problem.
