Cracked oil trap hose ? V70-XC70

V70 2006 front wheel drive. I noticed a vent hose cracked (right next to the oil filler cap) due to heat and age. I believe I spotted the correct one thru online diagrams Volvopartswebstore.com . However none of the parts have an accordion crease in the hose like the original ( 15 inches long). Any advice and further maintenance in the oil trap(while I have things apart)? I think that is where the hose leads to I don’t want to start taking things apart till I have the spare part in hand. Car seem to be running ok for now. Have tape on things for short term repair
Can I replace this with any type replacement hose?

Cracked oil trap hose ? V70-XC70

Mine cracked under the plastic cover. Which allowed oil to spray in the compartment with the coils. Which caused some exposed wires to one cylinder to lose their insulation. Which shorted and killed the coil. So be quick and fix it. I found an all rubber URO version on Amazon for $18.

The breather hose that came with the car is defective and has since been 'superseded' with a new (actually older) design. You don't really have to take the car apart to replace it. You can reach the clamp at the oil trap by sliding your arm under the manifold from the driver's side. I would use a screw type hose clamp at the plastic trap to tighten it down.

Keeping it running is better than buying new
