Frankenstein V70-XC70

I am just getting used to this excellent '98 v70 after years of driving the equally excellent 940. I was fortunate to acquire a car that had been kept by the original dealer for years as an agency car and then sold on to an extreme enthusiast. The second owner changed out a substantial part of the engine and running components. A good deal of it a quest to create a "rally" car is my guess. He inherited another v70 and decided to lavish all of his attention on that one. A somewhat later model I am guessing.
Among the components changed were the fuel injectors, turbo charger, some suspension and the ECU. This car is wicked fast but I was impressed with the (all original) 940 turbo. The turbo is an upgrade somehow as are the injectors. The new ECU is required for these new parts? Has the fellow tweaked this car into a T5? The original ECU was in the back along with a new body stut, and two new front hubs. An after market boost gauge was also among the bits in the back! This is the first car I have ever had without a boost gauge in the cluster. Aside from the shiny new speeding ticket, the first in more than forty years, all is fine. I just have some lingering questions.
Is there an after market radio kit to recommend? What do I do with the superfluous parts? Should I keep the ECU as a spare or would that just cause mischief? The body strut is definitely something I will never need nor the (what I believe to be)a black plastic grill looking thing. Also a mis -shaped boomerang shaped sun shade (?) that seems to fit nowhere. The car is in remarkable condition and drives perfectly. Well cared for. The seller is just difficult to reach.
As always, any input will be helpful!
Thanks,
Barrelhouse

Keep the ECU as a spare. So your car was a light pressure turbo to begin its life? Yes, the 'new' ECU is required to get the extra boost, the stock injectors would have worked. Be careful with 'full' boost, as the internal engine items are not designed to handle too much torque. You don't want a wrist pin breaking.

If the boost gauge was mounted on the A pillar with a vacuum hose routed to the vacuum tree by the throttle, mount it again as a nice to know item.

As for the radio, there are numerous after market double DIN replacements in any price range. Just make sure you get a proper wiring harness to mate with the 1998 wiring. I would have just opted for an original radio from Ebay.

Body strut??? Do you mean the bar that connects the two strut towers? If it doesn't get in the way of the brake fluid container or make top engine maintenance a real pain, just mount the thing and get less body flex when cornering.

Keeping it running is better than buying new
