Greetings- I am looking for any reliable information on fuel pump replacement for a 2003 base model V70. Is there an access door?

Car developed a no start condition, but does crank over. After checking a few other items I noticed there was no pressure at the fuel rail. Checked the fuse, and found and swapped out the relay with a known good one to no avail (for me, it is never the relay).

The new pumps are expensive, but I found one at my local auto recycler for $50. Pulled the 10mm nuts off the cover underneath the rear drivers side seat, and found blank metal. No other covers under this seat - where should I be looking? Is it possible to do without dropping the tank?

So on the base model 2003 V70 the access port to the pump is in the concave area in between the cargo area and the rear seat backs.

It does require the removal of the forward floor panel in the cargo area, and the seat backs themselves. (Not as bad as it sounds)

Unfortunately - the pump is different than expected. It appears to be secured in the bottom of a steel stank with two nylon nuts. Since the junkyard gave me the wrong pump - I get to take the rest of the night off.

I did give it a few taps before reassembling for testing - but I thinks she is toast

Thanks Klaus! The access port in the rear driver's side seat was a dead end.

There does not appear to be anything under the passenger side seat. Some Youtube videos are directing me into the cargo area - or the space in between the seat and cargo area (seat backs removed).

I can see a harness, and am hopeful I can hunt it down from there. These variations between model years and series makes it tricky - but I would hate to lose a care of something "simple" like a fuel pump

Long shot here. Did you look in front of the fuel tank? That is where it is located on an 850 but I really don't know on your car.
