Reliability? S60

Hi Everyone,
A friend is asking me if my Volvo has been reliable? My friend is thinking about a 2017 S60 T5. Well, mine hasnt been that reliable but I cant answer the question because I have an S70.

Can anyone tell me if they think the 2016-2017 S60 T5 is reliable?
On my S70 I have had my turbo oil line, leak, the maf sensor die a few times, the head threads on one plug damaged, the door switches die 3 times, the transmission shifter crack 4 times, and the heater core leak. I probably had a few more problems but i consider that worse than normal. Comments?

Andrew

Isn't the car in question under warranty?

I would have his dealer (He should have one) put the car through an inspection as a certified used car. I think that my dealer's tech that certifies cars can tell me if an ant ever farted in the trunk!

Have the dealer run a repair/recall history on the car.

BTW - using this process can cause the dealer to buy in if the car has subsequent problems.

Bear in my mind that your car is old and has almost 200k on it. Every old car with almost 200k is going to have some problems. Other than the MAF sensor dying (BTW - did you have to replace it?), the other problems are typical old car problems not a reliability problem. Except perhaps for the repetitive nature...

Don't know about anything bad with the 2017 S60 T5. Suggest your friend checks Consumer Reports.
